Paige Rowe: Winter/16 Runway

Paige Rowe recently launched her Winter 2016 collection and I was so excited to see what’s to come. Paige Rowe’s designs are quite unique and I love how they can suit so many different body shapes and sizes. The different cuts on the designs just make them look cool and edgy and can be dressed up or down.

The collection was shown in the tunnels of The Lion Hotel on Melbourne street. I had no idea these tunnels existed, but apparently they have been here for a long time, and you can hire the space out for parties and events…such a cool space!

Anyways back to the clothes, so for those of you who can’t remember my previous post on Paige Rowe, Paige designs two capsule collections per year; Summer and Winter. If you would like to try out some pieces, you make an appointment for a styling session, where you will get a one-on-one styling session, try out whatever you like and then place an order for the pieces you want and they will be delivered to you in May.

I really like the patterns and accessories in this seasons collection…so many great pieces!

Tafe SA Fashion Graduates Parade

Hello everyone, Happy New Year! Sorry I have been MIA since mid December, my cat went missing so I was a little preoccupied. I am back now, and I wanted to share with you all my experience of Tafe SA’s Fashion Graduates Parade. It was a picturesque event held on Light Sqaure, which is located in the middle of Adelaide’s city. With a massive runway and packed rows, everyone was excited to see what the graduates had created.

The show featured collections by 22 design graduates, each collection was inspired by different things including the 1930’s, Greek Gods, architecture, and more. My favourite collections from the show were by Kelsey Sandercock, Zafiro Girado, Elise Musolino, Jessica Nicholls, Chloe Mansueto, and Natalie Ivanov.

Natalie Ivanov received two prizes on the evening, showing her potential as a successful designer. I also love that she is all about animal rights, she states “as a designer, I believe that animal cruelty is an extremely important issue, and strongly advocate educating people on where their products come from and how they are made.” It is refreshing to see that people who will be in the fashion industry are thinking in this way.

Here are some of my favourite looks from the show.

This intricately braided skirt is a piece out of Natalie Ivanov’s collection, how amazing is it?!

I was so pleased to see the high level of talent that Adelaide has. Creativity is a skill and a talent and it is great that we have institutions that appreciate this talent and are able to help nurture those that wish to perfect their creative skills.

Adelaide Fashion Festival: Finesse Lingerie Showcase

During the Adelaide Fashion Festival I was invited by Westfield to attend the Finesse Lingerie showcase. Finesse Models Australia is one of Adelaide’s top modelling agencies so I was looking forward to being impressed.

As we walked into the space it was like walking into a dream, fairy tale land, with angels playing harps and serene clouds floating in the air. The runway was light up with blue and red lights, and the catwalk was decked out with glitter, it was so beautiful. The lingirie showcased on the night was from much loved Westfield retailers including Bras’N’Things, Bonds and Honey Birdette. Drawing inspiration from Victoria Secret, the models flew down the runway wearing wings of all designs.

I love attending events that are different and you can see that so much thought and creativity went into it, Finesse and Westfield definitely went above and beyond to create a tasteful and beautiful show.

Adelaide Fashion Festival: SA Designer Showcase

The SA Designers Showcase was the place to be on Saturday night, held at the Old Adelaide Gaol, the night was filled with fashion, food, fun….and Krispy Kreme’s! The runway featured the latest collections from South Australia’s leading established and emerging designers, including Casper & Pearl, Chelsea Eve, couture+love+madness, Designer Duchess, GeorgiaGuy, Greta Kate, Jaimie Sortino, Liza Emanuele, Namoi, Necia, Malachi Empire, Orbin Collective, Elyse Barker, Laura Jayne The Label, Madeline The Label, Millicent Elizabeth, SCK The Label, Scott & Scarce, Simmone Standing The Label and Willow and Grace.

The emerging designer competition was judged by Tania Debono (Fashion Blogger/Director of The CakeFace and The Writing), Jodi Nash (SA Style Magazine Editor), Tess (Rip it Up Magazine), Mitchell Oakley Smith (Curator of Fashion Icons at the Art Gallery) and Wayne Cooper (Fashion Designer). With so many beautiful pieces in each collection, it would have been a difficult decision for the judges, the designer they chose to win the title of SA’s best emerging designer was Simmone of Simmone Standing The Label (seen below).

Here are some of my favourite looks from the show:

The show was amazing, there is so much talent in Adelaide! After the show guests were treated to delicious bites provided by The Republic and on departure each guest received a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
