Adelaide Fashion Festival 2015: What’s to come…

So it’s that time of year again….yes that’s right…the city is preparing for Adelaide Fashion Festival 2015.

Adelaide Fashion Festival is a celebration of Adelaide’s up-and-coming and established designers. Adelaide is bursting with creative talent and I personally love when creativity is celebrated. This year the festival will have a whole new look with most shows taking place on Hindmarsh Square, check out the program to see which shows you would like to attend.

Not only will there be runway shows but there are also a couple of speaking events; The Fashion Insiders Breakfast and the Connecting With China Workshop, this is such a great opportunity for those wanting to get into the fashion industry.

The festival will run over 4 days from the 22nd to the 25th of October. In anticipation of the festival, there have been a couple of events around town to get us all excited about what’s to come. Be Young PR and Little Lion Communications held a party at Pop Bar in the Adelaide Casino so we could hear from some of the designers about what they are looking forward to and One Rundle Trading Co. held a runway within their beautiful Dulwich store, to give us a taste of the fashions to come…here are some moments captured at these events….

Adelaide Fashion Festival: Myer Centre Adelaide Fast Fashion

The Myer Centre Adelaide fast fashion show apart of the Adelaide Fashion Festival was one to remember. I attended last year’s show and was so excited to be attending once again this year. The Myer Centre Adelaide really know how to put on a show, I love how different it is, it’s all about having fun with fashion. I attended along with my sister….

The Myer Centre Adelaide is full of shops selling fast fashion, which means, you can find on trend, stylish pieces for reasonable, everyday prices. I am a huge fan of fast fashion, as someone who likes to wear different clothes all the time. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show….

Thankyou to the Myer Centre Adelaide, they really know how to treat their guests! Keep an eyeout for future Myer Centre Adelaide events!!!

Katarina Keeler, a 5’10 Indigenous Australian beauty from Ceduna, will represent this year’s Festival.

“As the new fresh-face on the Adelaide modelling scene, Katerina was a standout for us, and what better way for her to launch her career in the industry then using the Adelaide Fashion Festival as her big break,” says Adelaide Fashion Festival Coordinator Cristina Tridente.

Katarina never dreamt that a modelling career might become a possibility until she was scouted from the crowds at Westfield Marion shopping centre during the 2013 Finesse & IMG International Model Search by Finesse Models Australia Director, Brigette Mitchell.

Currently completing her final year at university, the ambitious 20-year old remains passionate about her studies, but is delighted at the prospect of her modelling career and the opportunities this role with the Adelaide Fashion Festival will present.

“Being chosen as the Face of the 2014 Adelaide Fashion Festival is very exciting, and it’s an honour to represent my Indigenous heritage in such a renowned and prestigious fashion event,” says Miss Keeler.

“On top of modelling I am also studying a Bachelor of Nursing which is keeping me very busy, but I am looking forward to what the future holds and hope that modelling will be a part of it.”
