Republic: Spring Menu Launch

Republic recently launched their new spring menu and I was invited along to have a taste of the new offerings.

The menu has an interesting range of dishes, from beetroot carpaccio to squid ink spaghetti, there’s something to suit all taste-buds. To my surprise is really enjoyed the beetroot carpaccio, it was like really thin pickled beetroot, it had a slight tang, but was also a little sweet and crunchy, its a great starter. Other dishes I enjoyed included the scallop and house bacon with sweet corn puree and dessert of course…Dark Chocolate Mi-Ciut….what is this you ask? It is the fancy name for flourless chocolate cake, which came with strawberry compote, vanilla bean ice-cream and hazelnut toffee….yum!

Frozen Beer Launch

So it’s been a little while now since Frozen Beer launched in Adelaide, but this launch is definitely one people will remember for a long time to come!

I am not a alcohol enthusiast at all, but all you beer lovers out there have to try frozen beer! Just the experience of feeling the textures in your mouth is worth it. Aside from the actual beer, just take a look at the machine below, each machine is beautifully adorned with pop-art, for all you art enthusiasts, you will love these machines, I did!

So where can you get Frozen Beer, well at the moment it is available at The Loft wine and oyster bar (an amazing local Adelaide bar) and across summer, Frozen Beer will be available at more locations.

Collins Bar: Summer Cocktail Menu Launch

“With over 15 years of bar experience working in Tokyo, London, New York and having been named one of the Worlds Greatest Bartenders, Grant will exclusively create a new summer menu for The Collins Bar that is most definitely out of the ordinary.”

I was recently invited to a very special cocktail mixing masterclass with the owner of Collins Bar; Grant Collins, who is known as the Heston Blumenthal of cocktail mixing.

Collins Bar is located within the Hilton Hotel, Adelaide, and is a high end, yet relaxed bar which has an amazing menu of cocktails.

This masterclass was  held in celebration of the launch of their new summer cocktail menu, available from the 19th of January 2015. The new menu is truly spectacular, from bubble baths to doughnut inspired cocktails, it’s a feast for the senses.

Grant Collins is an expert in what he does and works different flavours together to create an experience rather than just another plain old drink.
