So it’s that time of year again….yes that’s right…the city is preparing for Adelaide Fashion Festival 2015.
Adelaide Fashion Festival is a celebration of Adelaide’s up-and-coming and established designers. Adelaide is bursting with creative talent and I personally love when creativity is celebrated. This year the festival will have a whole new look with most shows taking place on Hindmarsh Square, check out the program to see which shows you would like to attend.
Not only will there be runway shows but there are also a couple of speaking events; The Fashion Insiders Breakfast and the Connecting With China Workshop, this is such a great opportunity for those wanting to get into the fashion industry.
The festival will run over 4 days from the 22nd to the 25th of October. In anticipation of the festival, there have been a couple of events around town to get us all excited about what’s to come. Be Young PR and Little Lion Communications held a party at Pop Bar in the Adelaide Casino so we could hear from some of the designers about what they are looking forward to and One Rundle Trading Co. held a runway within their beautiful Dulwich store, to give us a taste of the fashions to come…here are some moments captured at these events….
I was recently contacted by Vision Direct, an online store, selling a beautiful selection of designer glasses and sunglasses. They asked me if I would like to choose a pair of sunglasses and review them on the blog, after having a browse on the website I quickly wrote back and said I would love to! I’m not a big sunglasses wearer but after seeing the range on this site, I told myself that I am going to get a pair and I will wear them! Plus they are good sun protection!
It was so hard to choose, but after narrowing down the choices and asking for friends opinions I decided on a pair of Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses. As you will see below the frames are a dark shade of tortoise shell, and they have an interesting shape to them, that really makes these sunglasses special, the frames are what stood out to me. The lenses are dark brown shaded, they are more on the opaque side which I like. I was worried that the cat eye shape wouldn’t really suit my face but I think they work, and according my fashion blogger friends verdicts, they do suit me….which was great to hear!
So you’ll see below what the sunglasses look like on me. I’d love to hear what you think. I highly recommend checking out this site if you’re looking for a pair of designer glasses, you will not be disappointed, also if you choose a pair under the fast shipping category, you will receive your purchase within a couple of days! Let me know if you purchase any glasses from the site, I’d love to see your picks!

Hello everyone, Happy New Year! Sorry I have been MIA since mid December, my cat went missing so I was a little preoccupied. I am back now, and I wanted to share with you all my experience of Tafe SA’s Fashion Graduates Parade. It was a picturesque event held on Light Sqaure, which is located in the middle of Adelaide’s city. With a massive runway and packed rows, everyone was excited to see what the graduates had created.
The show featured collections by 22 design graduates, each collection was inspired by different things including the 1930’s, Greek Gods, architecture, and more. My favourite collections from the show were by Kelsey Sandercock, Zafiro Girado, Elise Musolino, Jessica Nicholls, Chloe Mansueto, and Natalie Ivanov.
Natalie Ivanov received two prizes on the evening, showing her potential as a successful designer. I also love that she is all about animal rights, she states “as a designer, I believe that animal cruelty is an extremely important issue, and strongly advocate educating people on where their products come from and how they are made.” It is refreshing to see that people who will be in the fashion industry are thinking in this way.
Here are some of my favourite looks from the show.
This intricately braided skirt is a piece out of Natalie Ivanov’s collection, how amazing is it?!
I was so pleased to see the high level of talent that Adelaide has. Creativity is a skill and a talent and it is great that we have institutions that appreciate this talent and are able to help nurture those that wish to perfect their creative skills.

I have always loved Adelaide for how it is filled with so many creative people who aren’t afraid to step outside of the box and create things they truly believe in. Simmone Standing is one of these people, after winning the title of best emerging designer at the SA Designer Showcase during the 2014 Adelaide Fashion Festival, she has launched herself and her label in a big way.
Simmone Standing the Label launched their collection recently at The Richmond Hotel, beautifully light with fairy lights, it was the perfect setting for the all white collection to make its debut. Each piece was different to anything that is allready out there, from the textures of the fabrics to the cuts of the tops, trousers and skirts. With cut-outs in the trousers and layered fabric that has been pinch pleated, each piece was so interesting and different. These pieces would be great paired with a pop of colour or worn as is to keep that sleek all white look. Below are some of the looks from the show.
Last Sunday I was invited to attend the Couture-Love-Madness AW15 show, which showcased the ‘Silk Road’ collection. Held at a carpark/warehouse location, I loved the juxtaposition of the location and lux fashion on show.
My friend and designer Cristina Tridente welcomed guests, along with channel 7’s Amelia Mulcahy. Cristina shared her inspiration for the collection, coming from her trip to Qingdao in China, the oriental theme showed through in the luxurious fabrics and the overall decor of the space.
Below are some of my favourite looks from the show. You will also see some photos of the amazing head pieces worn by the models, aswell as the delicious food and fortune cookies guests were treated to.
